Quick Business Card

The client approached me with a request to design and print a set of business cards for her boyfriend as a birthday present. She needed to keep the costs low, since she was a college student, and she did not have any idea where to start with the design.

So I needed to design a logo, select a typeface that would be affordable, and combine them on a business card that would have a subtle splash of color.

Solution

I needed to act quick to keep costs low, so I quickly sketched my idea of a vertical card with space for an illustration of an ampersand superimposed onto a globe (to represent website design, Andy\'s profession.)

Within one hour we had the design finished, assembled onto a contact sheet with cut markings, saved as a flattened .pdf file, and emailed to my printer with instructions on what type of paper to use, and what cuts to make. My client was able to go to the printer herself later that day to pay for and pick up the finished product- a stack of 200 business cards.

Result

Her cost was only one hour of my time and printing. And Andy loved the cards! I hope they've helped him get his name out there!
