Go Vikings Tee Shirt

A philanthropist and alumnus of Western Washington University contacted me to help him with this project. He wanted me to design a WWU tee shirt that would be fun and original. His plan was to print a limited run of 300 of them and donate them to the athletics department as prizes to be given out during athletic events.

To keep within his budget, he requested that I keep the graphic to four colors- and it would have to include the official university colors of blue and gray, and with a splash of color as well.

Solution

Going with the maritime theme of our mascot- the "Viking", I was inspired to design a graphic which would highlight the school's logo (a viking ship) and set it with the backdrop of the sunrise over Mt. Baker.

Result

My client loved the shirts and said that they were exactly what he wanted. Better yet, the athletic department reported back that they were a huge hit at the games and they started selling more tickets to games, with kids asking with excitement if "those new tee shirts" were still being given away.
